I would just see if you can download the latest software and drivers for the card you have ( from BM ) and see if that solves your problem. But I have no desire to waste time doing it at this point. I did a test from BMPCC using HDMI to SDI converter ( new one ) to see if the SDI IN would work for capture ( using resolve ) and it will work ( recognizes card, etc. I don't have a studio environment where I 'capture' anything to the computer directly. Once you’ve downloaded the drivers, double-click on the installer icon. This stuff is really complicated for an idiot like me, but I got it working well using Resolve for output. It's trying to be OK for adobe and resolve now, etc. That got changed over the years cause people didn't like it. Blackmagic Design creates the world’s highest quality products for the feature film, post and broadcast industries including URSA cameras, DaVinci Resolve and ATEM switchers. It used to be that even in Resolve ( 12 ? ) you had to use BM presets to start projects in order to use the card properly. Namely, get drivers and software from BM ( current stuff now available online from BM ) and install THAT for the 4k pro card. This software includes everything you need to set up your DeckLink, UltraStudio and Intensity for video capture and playback. Actually the SNAP package does not recognize the Blackmagic. Disk Speed Test is included in Blackmagic Desktop Video software. It's hard enough getting stuff to work with Resolve. Use this following command to install OBS from APT sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:obsproject/obs-studio & sudo apt install -y ffmpeg obs-studio - Once OBS is (re)installed, add your source and now you should have a source with a name containing Blackmagic inside. Select Settings (gear icon) above the Start button. I only have old CS6 creative suite and wouldn't even try to mess around with it to capture or play from that card. Using Resolve I can see ( via SDI out) a video monitor ( not a computer monitor or TV monitor ) what is on Resolve timelines, etc. Blackmagic Desktop Video 12. The encoder requires Desktop Video software provided by Blackmagic design for its initial configuration. Think it's a fairly new PCI-E thing in the 8X slot. I have a BM card in PC with SDI in and out.
